Honoring the Arizona Heart Institute doctor and nurse who go above and beyond for their patients. Nominate the medical professionals who show up with compassion every single day. The two winners are announced live on stage at Healing the Heart of Trauma on October 9 at The Oasis in Phoenix.
The Big Heart Award is Pastoral Care Associates’ way of naming something that usually goes unnamed: the doctor and the nurse at Arizona Heart Institute who bring the most compassion to the bedside, shift after shift.
We created it because clinical excellence gets measured constantly, while the quiet work of sitting with a frightened patient rarely does. This award is tied directly to the theme of our 3rd Annual Healthcare Symposium, Healing the Heart of Trauma, because caring for the whole person is exactly what these two people already do.
Nominations come from anyone: patients, families, colleagues, and staff. Nominating is free and takes about two minutes. The doctor and the nurse with the most nominations are announced live on stage on October 9, 2026, with their nominators’ words read aloud.
Free to nominate. Takes about two minutes. Closes October 8, 2026.
Nominations for the Big Heart Award closed on October 8, 2026. Thank you to everyone who nominated an Arizona Heart Institute doctor or nurse.
Winners are announced live at the Symposium.
